Clodomiro Montes Jr., co-founder and musical director of Colombian Latin Soul, is a Colombian percussionist born in Cartagena, Colombia. Coming from a family of renowned percussionists, he began his professional career at the age of 12, performing with prominent Colombian ensembles and developing a strong foundation in Latin rhythms, jazz, and folkloric music.
Like Karina, Montes spent six years touring across Asia with the entertainment company John Chacko International, performing in countries including Thailand, China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Taiwan. Since settling in Los Angeles in 2006, he has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists such as Bruno Mars, Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz, Andy Montañez, Tony Vega, and Eddie Santiago, and has participated in projects with Stevie Wonder, A.B. Quintanilla’s Kumbia Kings, Fruko y sus Tesos, Sonora Carruseles, and Mariachi Divas featuring Becky G.
Career highlights include headlining the Carnaval de Barranquilla Concierto de Carnaval with Carlos Vives, performing at the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show with Bad Bunny, and contributing to high-profile studio recordings across various Latin music genres.
